Graduation

The gap between my first post and second post was bit long.. I shall try to reduce the timegap :) I have created my own website www.techiebreeze.co.cc with some useful stuffs which includes Engineering subjects videos, Job interview videos, Documents etc.. Its an ongoing process. You can have a look into it.

Need comments from everyone on upgrading my website :)

Back to the topic. When I entered my graduation I had following queries in my mind.

[1] Will I get a job?

[2] Will I complete my degree securing first class?

[3] Do I need to do paper presentations, Mini projects?

[4] Do I need to do software courses?

As I have crossed the start and end point in graduation I invited myself to comment on my graduation. Well you offcourse need to do all the above to get an *extra* oppurtunity in the job hunt.

I would suggest following. To be more precise I can relate this to cricket. In cricket you would have often heard commenators say "Stick to Basics" Well apply the same rule here as well.

Yes. You need not go to colleges to do paper presentations[Its good to improve your public speaking skills offcourse!] just for filling your resume. I havent done any paper presentations. However I know the importance of doing presentations and I dont want to miss it either.

You can come forward and take technical presentations to your classmets. You try to implement your narration as a powerpoint slides and present it to your classmates. I did many in my college days which nurtured my confidence.

You can also do some mini projects in some language of your interest. When you join a company as a fresher this will play an important role. As a fresher you need to be flexible. So based on your resume employer will be put you to specific project. I did my mini project in C language and am now working in router IOS stuffs.

You need not do any software courses. Its waste of time and money. Just learn the languages that come in your syllabus. Try to make mini projects out of it. You can do all the features of the languages in your mini project. It would add excellent value to you. Again its of your own interest to be successful.

And the final one is percntage. You need to make sure that you have above 75% in your graduation. Its an added advantage. When I say added advantage I mean that its added opportunity.

Yes some companies to segregate candidates use this strategy and allow the applications from candidates above 75%. So its increased opportunity for you isnt it? I have given you the basics that you need to follow in the graduation. This is absolutely necessary for your success.

If you have less than 75% its *not* a problem. However you may miss 3/10 opportunity. Well figure seems simple however remember "Opportunity knocks the door only once" :) It can be any of those opportunity. So dont miss anything.

My First Post

This is my first blog. When I have to think what could be the first thing that could be posted as my first blog the one that flashed in my mind is to write about myself during the graduation. I would like to share you with you readers the path that I came across travelling for four good years.

IT industry is like a ship travelling in the sea. It raises and falls. I got a ticket to that ship at June2005 for a travel when it was falling. I was having a hope initially that we will reach the destination safely.  The path was unclear though.

I was away from computers during my schooling so entering into a new field is always going to be challenge as it was.  I joined AKCE college of Engineering which is situated in Southern Tamilnadu near Srivilliputhur. I was staying in Srivilliputhur in a Mansion.

Srivilliputhur is a divine place which has many priests and temples. Offcourse its a sin if I don't mention about the mouth watering Palgova.  Andal temple has also importance officially. Yes its tower is used as Tamilnadu Government seal.

Now I need to share you about the first day in my college. Its totally a different experience.  First time away from home, new faces, new college, new classroom, new place. So it was exciting.

In schooling we have almost all people coming from same area/city. Here people are from different parts of the state with a different slang. So the first day was interesting and unforgettable.  So the college life gets started well for me. I had good friends circle which also a point for success.

So now on I will share my experiences[not advices :)] on how I linked my graduation with the career I want.... [Will be posting it soon :)]
